Fan Fest: donde el fútbol también une culturas e historias/Fan Fest: Where Football Brings the World Together

Hay momentos que van mucho más allá de un partido de fútbol. El Fan Fest se ha convertido en un punto de encuentro donde miles de personas comparten una misma pasión, sin importar el idioma, la nacionalidad o la distancia que hayan recorrido para llegar hasta Monterrey.

Entre conciertos, partidos y la energía de los aficionados, una de las experiencias más enriquecedoras ha sido convivir con periodistas de distintas partes del mundo. En la sala de prensa conocimos a Puk, una joven periodista originaria de Roosendaal, en los Países Bajos, quien viajó junto con el equipo de RTL Boulevard para cubrir el torneo y seguir de cerca a la selección neerlandesa.

Es su primera visita a México y no ocultó su sorpresa por la belleza de Monterrey.

"Es una ciudad hermosa, rodeada de montañas. La gente ha sido muy amable y realmente estoy disfrutando estar aquí", comentó.

Puk llegó procedente de Kansas City después del partido de su selección y permanecerá en Monterrey hasta el miércoles. El 29 de junio, Países Bajos enfrentará a Marruecos en un duelo que mantiene la expectativa de cientos, quizá miles, de aficionados neerlandeses que viajaron miles de kilómetros para acompañar a su equipo.

Lo que más le ha llamado la atención es la forma en que los mexicanos viven el fútbol.

"En mi experiencia, en México el fútbol se vive como una religión. Une a las personas. Todos disfrutan el ambiente y se respetan entre sí. Creo que es un gran ejemplo para muchos países", expresó.

También compartió que, aunque los Países Bajos son un país pequeño de aproximadamente 18 millones de habitantes, el fútbol forma parte de su identidad. La mayoría de los niños crecen jugando este deporte y cuando juega la selección nacional, prácticamente todo el país se reúne para apoyarla.

"Es exactamente lo que estamos viendo aquí en México", dijo con una sonrisa.

Como editora y reportera de RTL Boulevard, Puk recorrerá México y Estados Unidos mientras continúe avanzando su selección. Si el equipo neerlandés consigue la victoria frente a Marruecos, su siguiente destino será Houston; de lo contrario, será momento de regresar a casa.

Antes de despedirse confesó que espera aprovechar un día libre para conocer más de Nuevo León y visitar lugares como Santiago, del que ha recibido excelentes recomendaciones.

Conversaciones como esta recuerdan que el Fan Fest no solo ofrece conciertos, partidos y entretenimiento. También abre la puerta a conocer historias, compartir perspectivas y descubrir que, aunque vengamos de lugares completamente distintos, el fútbol sigue siendo un idioma universal capaz de reunir al mundo entero en un mismo lugar.

Some experiences go far beyond the final score. Monterrey's Fan Fest has become a place where football connects people from different countries, languages, and cultures, creating unforgettable moments both on and off the field.

While fans enjoy live matches, concerts, and entertainment, the press center has also become a meeting point for journalists from around the world. One of them is Puk, a journalist from Roosendaal, the Netherlands, who traveled with the RTL Boulevard television team to cover the tournament and follow the Dutch national team.

For Puk, this is her first visit to Mexico, and Monterrey has already made a lasting impression.

"It's a beautiful city surrounded by mountains. The people are very friendly, and I'm really enjoying being here," she said.

After covering the Netherlands' previous match in Kansas City, she arrived in Monterrey to continue reporting as his country prepares to face Morocco on June 29. Thousands of Dutch supporters have made the long journey to Mexico to cheer for their national team, turning the tournament into a truly international celebration.

What has impressed her the most is the passion Mexican fans have for football.

"In my experience, Mexicans live football almost like a religion. It brings people together. Everyone enjoys the atmosphere, and people treat each other with kindness and respect. I think it's a great example for many other countries," she explained.

Puk also shared that although the Netherlands is a relatively small country with around 18 million people, football is deeply rooted in its culture. Most children grow up playing the sport, and whenever the Dutch national team competes, the entire country comes together to support them.

"It's exactly what we're seeing here in Mexico," she added.

As an editor and reporter for RTL Boulevard, Puk will continue following the tournament across Mexico and the United States. If the Netherlands defeats Morocco, her next stop will be Houston. Otherwise, it will be time to head back home.

Before leaving Monterrey, she hopes to explore more of Nuevo León, especially the town of Santiago, which has been highly recommended to her.

Stories like Puk's remind us that Fan Fest is about much more than football. It is a place where cultures meet, friendships begin, and people from every corner of the world discover that, despite speaking different languages, the love of the game is something everyone understands.
